100 Day Ilustration Challenge - Day 4

I bought myself a great bamboo brush yesterday - the expensive kind ( not the pound shop kind) with the perfect point which holds so much colour and a big bottle of black ink. Stretched the paper and panicked at the white page before me. I guess blank pages scare everyone. I put on my favourite soundtrack  from the movie ´Amelie´ and just went for it.....

I used masking tape to hold the paper down but gummed paper tape is much better

I used a mixture of ink and watercolour

100 Day Ilustration Challenge - Day 3

I continued with yesteday´s illustration and went into "over kill" . Sometimes one needs to know when to stop to keep the freshness of the sketch and the watercolour. It´s only day 3 so I should see more progress as each day goes by. Each illustration is a lesson. I like filling in the background first and focusing on the negative shapes.

100 Day Ilustration Challenge - Day 2

Day 2

First Stage: light outline/ sketch and filling in the background.

I started this illustration yesterday but am still not quite finished. I find it hard to work in the evenings because of the light. I will continue this into day 3.

 I was inspired by the new Spring/ Summer 2015 collections of 

Oscar della Renta.  There was a wall of flowers as the background to his runway show.

 

I filled in the background colour first using a very loose wash technique.

I have decided to challenge myself and post one illustration, sketch scribble or whatever for 100 days.
I need to do this for myself alone.... but hope you enjoy them anyway.

I was thinking of some 1950s Glamour. It just started with the mane of ´Rita Hayworth´hair.
I just paint direct without pencil. 
I haven´t drawn directly in a while so I see the mistakes already but anyway it´s a start.....
